Retail has no browser client

Can you play WoW in a browser?

Sources checked: 2026-10-28 · Support article and Azeroth warning checked 2026-10-27.

What people open instead

Azeroth Survivors needs WebGPU. Chrome and Edge are the browsers the official warning names, plus Safari. It has no account. Progress stays in the browser. It is not your retail subscription and it will not show your retail characters.

Russian queries such as “вов в браузере” land on the same gap. I did not find a Blizzard browser client in another language either. A CurseForge addon still needs the retail or WoW Forever client installed.

What not to install

Sites that embed a different game and title it Azeroth are a known mix-up: play.azerothsurvivors.org is Aevoria Survivors. Private-server launchers that claim to be “WoW in Chrome” are outside this page. I am not linking one.

What I checked

I read the support article’s platform list and the Azeroth warning on the same day. One is Blizzard naming Windows and Mac. The other is Aethus naming Chrome, Edge, and Safari. They are not the same login.
