What loads and what the browser stores

Privacy policy

Our own storage keys

ws_consent_v1 — a JSON record with choice, ads (granted or denied), a timestamp and the day count. Purpose: remember whether you accepted or rejected the analytics and advertising scripts. Retention: 180 days from the timestamp, after which the banner can show again. Legal basis: your choice, with the default-on behaviour described below.

ws_socialbar_closed_v1 — the value 1 when you close the fixed Adsterra Social Bar. Purpose: keep the bar closed on later visits instead of showing it again after a reload. Retention: until you clear site data or change the value. It contains no identifier.

Our own code stores these choices in localStorage; GA4 and Clarity can also create first-party cookies as described below. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control (navigator.globalPrivacyControl), we treat it as Reject: ads and replay stay off and analytics consent is denied.

Default loading and how to turn it off

This build loads analytics, session replay and ads by default. On your first view, and whenever no valid choice is stored, Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, Adsterra Native Banner and Adsterra Social Bar start immediately. Reject removes the ad and replay elements, stores denied for 180 days and reloads this page so their running code stops. With a stored Reject the loaders for all three are not created, so later views send no request to Google Analytics, Clarity or Adsterra. GPC uses the same denied state. Accept stores granted and enables the site-level loaders. Cookie settings in the footer reopens the choice.

Legal basis: consent where the law requires it for analytics and advertising cookies, and our legitimate interest in keeping a free guide available and secure. Because the default is on, you can withdraw at any time with Reject; withdrawal does not affect processing that already happened.

Google Analytics 4

Provider: Google LLC. Measurement ID: G-4N6W1Q8HZ6. The tag loads from www.googletagmanager.com and sends measurement to www.google-analytics.com. It records page views, device/browser, referral source and interaction events. With analytics consent granted it may set _ga and _ga_<container> first-party cookies (Google’s default expiry is two years, renewed on activity). The property-specific event retention setting has not been independently confirmed. The default Consent Mode command precedes config: ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization are denied; analytics_storage is granted; ads_data_redaction is true. A stored Reject changes analytics_storage to denied before config and the loader does not create the gtag.js request at all. Google’s policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. GA4 opt-out add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Microsoft Clarity

Provider: Microsoft Corporation. Project ID: z4iwom4oqq, loaded from clarity.ms. Clarity records session replays, heatmaps and click/scroll behaviour. It may set _clck (1 year), _clsk (1 day), CLID (1 year) and Microsoft cookies such as MUID (1 year), and it uses browser storage for the session. Purpose: see which guide sections are hard to use. This review has not independently confirmed this project’s masking or recording-retention settings; do not submit sensitive information through the site. Microsoft’s policy: https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement. Clarity opt-out: https://clarity.microsoft.com/optout.

Adsterra advertising

Provider: Adsterra (publisher 3403020, website 6156151). The site loads the Native Banner unit 31959453 and the Social Bar unit 31959454 from bicea.org. The browser first requests bicea.org for the two Adsterra units. In the mobile build check on 28 October 2026, those placements also requested static.nresystems.com, cdn.storageimagedisplay.com, cdn.show-sb.com, cdn.show-creative1.com and cdn.cloudpiko.com as Adsterra delivery or demand-partner hosts; the exact set can vary by creative. Adsterra and its demand partners may set third-party cookies and similar identifiers to cap frequency, measure impressions and choose a creative; those names and lifetimes are controlled by Adsterra, not by this site. Purpose: show sponsored placements that keep the guide free. Adult ads are switched off in the Adsterra panel for this website. Adsterra’s policy: https://adsterra.com/privacy-policy/. You can opt out of personalised advertising at https://adssettings.google.com/, https://www.youronlinechoices.com/ and https://optout.aboutads.info/. The Social Bar is fixed to the bottom of the viewport, is constrained to the screen width, and its close state is stored in ws_socialbar_closed_v1.

YouTube and links

Some guide pages have a video button. The page does not request YouTube until you press it; then it inserts an iframe to https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/VIDEO_ID. YouTube may then set its own cookies under Google’s policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. We do not receive those cookies. There is no other banner SDK, pop-up network or traffic-mesh script on this site.

Outbound links to wow.aethus.pl, GitHub, Hive, CurseForge, Blizzard, Discord and news sites are ordinary links. Those sites have their own policies once you leave. If you email [email protected], we keep the message long enough to reply and to fix the page; you can ask for a copy, correction or deletion by replying to the same address.

Your rights and changes

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Write to [email protected]. We do not sell personal information and we do not run automated decision-making. Do Not Track is not a reliable server signal for a static site; GPC is the signal we honour in the browser, as written above.

This policy changes by editing this page and its date. The current date is 28 October 2026. The contact address does not change with the policy text.

What I checked

The review compared the built HTML and real browser requests with the saved Clarity and Adsterra integration records. The project and placement ids match those records; ads.txt uses the recorded publisher id. The browser check also confirmed the default-on state and a remembered Reject. No vendor dashboard visit is claimed here.
