The exact talent percentages, gear values and five-axis scores below are attributed to azerothsurvivors.app alone. They are single-source figures, not independently confirmed live-game measurements. Main route
Hallowed Ground makes Hammer of Justice trigger a free Consecration on a 4-second cooldown. Ardent Defender opens on Hammer of Justice, stacks a shield from Consecration, and adds 20% damage while the shield holds. Hammer of the Righteous adds 15% health, turns health into damage, and bursts when the shield breaks.
This is the Protection core on the build index. A togame line about a once-per-90-seconds death save does not use the same words as the app’s Divine Intervention note, so I am not merging them.
Scores and gear
Survival is the high axis at 5/5. Control is 2/5. The letter grades live on the tier-list page.
Examples from the index: Redemption Breastplate (+58 HP, +6% damage reduction, +7% damage, +2% crit, 4% double) and Redemption Bracers (−13% cooldown, +0.71 HP/s).
The other route
Retribution is the other route: critical strikes into Exorcism, with Divine Storm spreading the hit. wowsurvivors also records a Retribution case. It is a second write-up, not a measured ranking.
What I checked
Paladin is the class I would hand someone on a first evening because two of the three rankings say so, and because the talent text is about a shield rather than a glass cannon. I still would not call it the best class.

The Protection route starts with Consecration. The app’s editorial scores are 4/4/5/2/3, and that page names Paladin as the starter class. togame ranks Paladin A; wowsurvivors ranks Paladin S.
